The back pockets make a good introduction to the new Levi’s x Sacai collection. On the Belted Flare Pants, neat welt pockets sit above the usual patch pockets, giving the jeans a second set of references drawn from tailored trousers. It is a small intervention with a considerable effect: something immediately recognizable becomes slightly harder to place.
Chitose Abe works with rigid and washed indigo across four central styles: two jackets, wide pants and flares. Keeping the palette concentrated puts the attention on proportion, construction and the places where different kinds of clothing meet.
The pair’s May 2025 collection already introduced seven-pocket jeans, alongside jackets that combined elements of Levi’s Type II and Type III fronts with a Type I-inspired cinched back. Those pieces treated the denim archive as material to be taken apart and recombined.
This time, the Sherpa Jacket brings texture into the equation, combining a relaxed selvedge denim body with faux sherpa and leather pocket details. The Blouson Jacket takes a more shaped approach, with elasticated cuffs and the utility sleeve pocket familiar from sacai’s outerwear. Side vents distinguish the women’s version. The interesting connection is between the volume of the denim and the details used to contain or interrupt it.
The Belted Wide Pants extend that interest in proportion below the waist. Cut generously with a mid-rise fit, they come with an integrated belt and special buttons at the belt loops. Alongside the flares, they offer two ways to build an outfit around a substantial denim silhouette.
The collection arrives first at the Levi’s x sacai pop-up at Landmark Hong Kong on September 29, 2026. The broader launch follows on September 30 through Levi’s website and app, selected Levi’s flagships and sacai stores, excluding Japan, where it releases October 1.
For shoppers in Japan, sacai has also announced advance raffles for store entry and online purchases. Online applications run September 25–28, with delivery restricted to Japan.
